MISSION STATEMENT

Diaspora Cultural Center, Inc. (DCC) is an incorporated non-profit organization under the leadership of its Board of Directors and a group of members interested in the preservation of African Diaspora cultures. DCC’s principal goal is the investigation, compilation, documentation, preservation and dissemination of the traditional culture and history of the Lukumí/Yoruba peoples—natives of West Africa that were brought to Cuba and Brazil, primarily, during the slave trade—and its Diaspora to Cuba and there from. DCC’s also aims to establish relationships and increase cultural interchanges with the Yoruba Diaspora in the Americas and the Caribbean, specifically Brazil, Trinidad, Grenada, Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, the United States, and other areas. more >>
